Southwestern Rendezvous 2008 EVENTS UPDATE

There may be additional information after our visit on Wednesday, check back here often. "House Rules" document has been added to forms. These are the Navy's rules for the housing facility. Please review them with your Ship prior to registration. One of our fellow Sea Scouts has alerted the Rendezvous Committee of a severe allergy to peanuts. We have checked with the galley and they already avoid all peanut products. However we all know that many of you bring snacks and treats along with you. Note that the House Rules prohibit food and drink inside the facility. While this rule is in place for other reasons, it does assist with the peanut issue. We trust that everyone will honor this rule. Weather Report: The good news is that the forecast for Fri, Sat and Sun is sunny but cool temps. The bad news (especially for the set up crew) is that it is supposed to rain all day Wednesday! Should it rain during the event, some events will be shifted (compass, knots, code flags) and others restricted (scuttlebutt, breaches buoy etc). Cross your fingers that the forecast holds! Bunks will not include any sheets, blankets or pillows. Bring your own sleeping bag and pillow if desired. Also bring pad locks to protect your valuables. The tall lockers are usable as are two drawers under each bunk. Note that while these rooms are comfortable, you will be in the same room with about 50 others. If you are a light sleeper you might consider ear plugs, just in case there are snorers! Also the rooms are quite large, so the will likely be a bit on the chilly side at night!   Select image for bigger view. Access lists have been turned in to the Navy.
